Cornerstone Community Outreach in Chicago welcomes people struggling with homelessness and provides basic services to those in need. Each night the shelter houses 470 people.
Paddy’s goal is to raise awareness of the needs of the homeless, to bring in support for CCO, and of course to make it!
According to Andrew Winter, CCO financial manager and part of the support team, last year’s event was “spontaneous, adventuresome, and successful.” We are hoping to connect to media outlets, churches, and businesses along the way. We are looking for sponsors that are interested in partnering with this year’s event. Paddy is asking friends and family and other contacts to make pledges per mile. We are pursuing a motel franchises to see if they will sponsor the accommodations for the run, and also a company to provide water and other beverages. This is all new to us. If you can help us in any way or refer contacts to us, please let us know.
