Progress on the 40k in Iraq

A note from the organizer of the run in Iraq:

“Here are a couple of photo’s from race preparation. My stash of goodies
and shirts and a photo of the starting line for the race. There is a mosque
that we will be running past and I get you a picture of that as well. I
have 12 teams signed up so far. We are changing the race format to a
“shotgun” start were everyone starts at the same time to minimize heat
injuries. Yesterday was 118 degrees F. low of 88. So the race will start at
5:00 AM and hopefully all the runners/walkers will be done by 5:45. I had
planned on running but pulled my ham string so I’ll be doing more of the
announcement and awards type stuff.”

We were able to get donations and reduced pricing on shirts for their run, one pictured below in Iraq with some of their race supplies.
Thank you everyone who helped with that.

Fathers day is a great day for a race, and it is also a hard day when dads and their children are apart.
I hope that for those in service for our country can still make that connection some how.
    God bless and stay safe.

I am personally grateful for the race being on Father’s Day b/c I know my husband will have something to focus on & some little way I can contribute to his day. So, thank you for putting it together and keeping our men entertained =)

You all are already giving so much for us, to go even a step further blows me away. Thanks for everything!
